Lindor has had an impressive career thus far, winning 2 gold gloves and 4 silver sluggers over his 9-year tenure in the MLB. Fransisco struggled in his first season as a New York Met but has since turned it on to hit near-career highs in his past three seasons. The switch-hitting shortstop managed to finish 2nd in NL MVP voting in 2024, and likely would have had it if not for Shohei Ohtani leaving the American League. He has managed to post a few career highs in the past two seasons, including in RBIs (2022 with 107) and stolen bases (2023 with 31), and was one stolen base in 2024 from having back-to-back 30/30 seasons.

Similar to Vlad Guerrero Jr, Lindor is a perennial first or second-round pick. He is not going to fall further than that, so if you want him, you are going to need to invest in a high pick (or, in auction leagues, spend a pretty penny). What does the addition of Juan Soto do to Lindor? Considering, in all likelihood, Fransisco will remain in the leadoff spot, you can expect a potential increase in runs. With that, depending on where Soto hits in the lineup, you may see Lindor getting more pitches to hit. Lindor does not really walk at all anyway, but if you have Soto following him directly, you would rather not risk having a runner on for a great bat like Juan Soto.

For fantasy purposes, Lindor seems to be projected to fall between 8 and 15 in drafts, meaning that he will likely become a first-round pick once again.

Here is a Fransisco Lindor Future while we are here (will edit when more get posted to Sportsbooks)

National League MVP: +1600 on DraftKings Sportsbook

Adding Juan Soto to his team can make MVP that much more challenging, and Shohei Ohtani does not seem to be slowing down any time soon. Lindor did finish 2nd in the MVP voting last year and is capable of putting up great numbers also. Anything is possible over 162 games.
