Everyone seems to be heavily invested in their thoughts about Notre Dame and their omission from the 2025 College Football Playoffs. To me, even with the entire system making little to no sense, I still feel that they belong on the outside looking in. As it stands, only 12 teams get the opportunity to compete for the title, and until that changes, the best medicine seems to be win every game you can, by as much as you can.

Losing to Miami and starting 0-2 is not ideal, and while that should not necessarily exclude them, it was always going to be a challenge for them come December. And, well, here we are.
With that being said, lets break down the games that are actually going to happen.
1. Alabama Crimson Tide vs Oklahoma Sooners
Run it back. Not even a month ago these two teams met in Alabama in a battle that saw the Sooners come away with the victory, 23-21. Just a year prior, the Sooners (unranked at the time) actually gave Alabama a pretty significant beat down, 24-3. Do I feel that Oklahoma has their number? No, not really. Regardless of if it Coach DeBoer or Coach Saban, Alabama still scares me a bit.
Give me Alabama
2. Miami Hurricanes vs Texas A&M Aggies
After watching Texas A&M come back and beat South Carolina in that ridiculous game that made no sense, I see them going pretty far in the bracket. No lead is safe, and they have a lot of talent. Miami should be happy that they made it, especially since a lot of people are not.
Texas A&M for the Win
3. Tulane Green Wave vs Ole Miss Rebels
Ole Miss is undoubtedly more talented, but I really think the Lane Kiffin saga could have an unforeseen (or maybe really foreseen) impact. I loved watching the Rebels all year, but I feel like they might come out flat. Like always, no one is more self aware that they know nothing than me.
Give me the Green Wave (why not)
4. James Madison Dukes vs Oregon Ducks
I love a good underdog story, but the Dukes are not going to be able to actually hang here. But, Matt, didn’t you just say that Tulane will beat Ole Miss? Yes, yes I did. I need to live in the real world sometimes, and there are only so many upset to go around.
Quack quack quack
Overall Picks and Parting Thoughts
- Alabama +1
- Texas A&M -3.5
- Tulane +17.5
- Oregon -21.5
I personally think that Texas A&M can win the whole thing. I think the rest of botttom 8 teams have too many flaws to really make noise outside of the first round. We shall see I guess.
