Where to begin? As someone who has had limited success (and limited success may, in itself, be an overstatement) in fantasy sports, I feel like it is time to turn the tide. There are less than 50 days until Major League Baseball’s Spring Training, which means the time is now to dive in and figure out what information is out there before the chaos ensues. Who is the next Chris Sale? A former superstar, who many wrote off, that reawakens to a Cy Young season? Who can identify the next Brent Rooker? A 30-year-old afterthought on a struggling franchise, who would wind up putting up fantastic fantasy numbers across several categories? These guys were certainly nowhere near the top of the lists when drafts began, and in most instances, maybe they were not even drafted.

In fantasy baseball, more than any other fantasy sport, you can get a boost from a solid draft, but that is not all you need. How you finish the season depends on how you manage throughout the season, spotting the trends before anyone else can. You win by finding these thought to be over-the-hill players and piecing the whole thing together with paper clips and string. Of course, I have never actually won; this is all my assumption about how the winners actually do it. I may just be on to something, but I suppose I will find out.
