Coming off a 13-strikeout performance against Boston, Max Fried looks to continue his hot streak against Baltimore.
Two of the preseason favorites for the World Series, Atlanta and Baltimore, find themselves in 2nd place in each of their respective divisions as of today.
Currently, the Orioles are on a 4-game winning streak, after sweeping Tampa Bay in a big four game series at the Trop. They catch the Braves at a seemingly good time, as they have dropped their last 3 games, all in a series against the Nationals in Washington, D.C.
There seems to be a lot going in Baltimore’s favor in this series, one being 22-11 record when playing at Camden Yards. The Braves have played .500 baseball on the road, so there may be a built-in advantage for the Orioles before a pitch is even thrown.
Baltimore is sending Albert Suárez to the mound, a 34-year-old pitcher who has had glimpses of success so far in 2024. Suárez, prior to this season, had last pitched in the MLB for the Giants in 2017.
Only one player on the current Braves roster has faced Suarez, with Marcell Ozuna going hitless. On the other hand, several Orioles have had match ups against Fried in years past, with Anthony Santander having the most success (1-3, HR).
