Bussball Longshot: A long shot consists of a player or a bet that is outside of the top 10 in any given category, and that also exceeds 20 to 1 odds.

Mike Evans +2200

Evans had his best receiving yards season since 2018 last year, and now that Baker Mayfield is back, what does that mean for the future hall of famer? Just now 30 years old, Evans has always ended the season at 1000+ yards receiving, and also with 13 or more games. The health factor may be his biggest strength, as availability is often the best ability. Having Baker Mayfield comfortable and not looking over his shoulder for the first time in a long time can also be a big plus.

Terry McLaurin +4000

“Scary Terry” has been a beacon of consistency since joining the NFL in 2019. He has not had the greatest help at the quarterback position, but he has still eclipsed 1000 yards in every season since his rookie year (granted, he had 1002 receiving yards in 2024, so not by much). This season, the Commanders are giving the ball to Heisman winner Jayden Daniels from LSU. Rookie QB’s often have growing pains but given McLaurin’s track record with non-Heisman level quarterback play, who’s to say he can’t be a security valve that gets a lot of looks?

Xavier Worthy +5000

Patrick Mahomes is throwing to the fastest receiver in the 2024 NFL Draft. Is that not enough to make it worth a bet at 50 to 1? With the uncertainty of the Chiefs WR room, it seems to be a chance worth taking. Also, just watch his Texas highlights. That was enough for me. Posting a 4.22 40-yard time in the NFL combine, which was faster than Tyreek Hill’s 4.29 in 2016, has a lot of people wondering what the ceiling may be in Kansas City.

Betting Value on Draftkings Sportsbook: $10 on each of these long shots will give potential payouts of $220 (Mike Evans, Tampa Bay), $400 (Terry McLaurin, Washington) and $500 (Xavier Worthy, Kansas City)
